Govinda News: Govinda shot by his Gun

Mumbai, India – Bollywood actor Govinda, was rushed to Criticare Hospital on Tuesday morning after accidentally shooting himself in the leg while handling his licensed revolver at his Juhu residence. The actor sustained a wound just below his knee and underwent an hour-long surgery to remove the bullet. He is currently stable but will remain in the hospital for a few days, followed by a month of rest.

The incident occurred when Govinda was preparing to leave for a morning flight to Kolkata for a show. According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, the actor dropped the revolver while placing it inside a cupboard, causing it to misfire. “It’s due to God’s grace that the injury was not more severe,” said Sinha, who rushed to Govinda’s side after the accident.

Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata at the time, immediately returned to Mumbai upon hearing the news. The actor’s daughter, Tina Ahuja, and several family members, including his brother Kirti Kumar, also gathered at the hospital.

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, who performed the surgery, confirmed that the bullet was successfully removed and Govinda’s recovery is progressing well. The actor will likely be discharged in three to four days.

In an audio message to his fans, Govinda expressed his gratitude for their prayers, saying, “The blessings of my fans, my parents, and my guru saved me.”

The Mumbai police have seized the revolver and launched an investigation into the incident. No formal complaint has been registered by the actor, but authorities are continuing their probe. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde personally reached out to Govinda, offering his support and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Govinda, known for his iconic roles in Bollywood, has been a beloved figure in Indian cinema for decades, and his fans have been quick to express their relief at his stable condition. His family members, including his nephew Vinay Anand, credited divine intervention for saving him from a more serious outcome.
